Brentwood Museum is situated in Lorne Road, off Warley Hill, an 8 minute walk from Brentwood railway station, and a 20 minute walk from the town centre.

Admission & parking FREE (donations welcome) Brentwood Museum is Fully Accredited by the MLA. Member: Museums in Essex Committee. Registered charity № 1197440

Lorne Road cemetery and nature reserve are open throughout the year daily from dawn to dusk. The museum is supported by Brentwood Borough Council.

Admission is Free

All donations are welcome.

Opening Times

The museum is now closed and will reopen in April 2025. 

The winter talks programme runs from October until May.  

The talks take place on the third Thursday of the month at 7.45pm.  They take place in the Gwendoline Lewis Room of Shenfield Parish Hall, Hutton Road, Shenfield, CM15 8LB.

About Us

The Brentwood Museum society was founded in 1977 and acquired its present building in Lorne Road cemetery in 1985.  We opened to the public in 1989 and since then have continued to open regularly during the summer months.

We provide group visits on demand.  These visits allow us to focus on a particular aspect of the museum or Brentwood history that's of interest to your group and provides a chance to explore the museum.
